Selling Your Music… Part 1
Since my last blog I’ve been busy with my brother Matt (@MattJABrooks) setting up m-briotickets.com. A place where people hosting christian events can sell tickets to their events for free. But thats a story for another day.
After my last post I’ve had lots of ideas for new blogs but this time i’m actually sitting down and writing it while it’s still fresh.

The quality of some of the music coming out of the UK right now is outstanding. With mix-tapes, Singles and EP’s galore, we’re living in what can only described as one of the most productive times in our history.
However, one of my biggest concerns is that artists are not really grasping the fact that they need to ‘sell’ their music.
Don’t misinterpret my use of the word sell. I’m talking about promotion, harnessing the power of the media and other outlets to expose your music to the biggest widest possible audience. I’m talking about doing a few simple things that will allow your music to go further, faster.
I never cease to be amazed by the amount of artists that rely solely on their social networks to sell/distribute their music. People tweeting and posting their stuff all over the place but with no real impact and because social networks move so fast, their message is quickly lost and replaced with whatever is currently trending.
I don’t think I have all the answers but in my next blog I will give you the fundamental principles of marketing your music and I will also introduce you to a tool that I think will change the way we think and the way we do things forever. Trust me. Its going to be big.
On that note I leave you with this thought. If www.m-briomusic.com has had over 9 million hits, has regular visitors from over 35 countries around the world, has had 350’000 tracks downloaded from it’s free downloads area and is THE only place where you will find quality Christian music from around the world in one place. Why isn’t YOUR music on there?
Doesn’t make sense does it?
PEACE
I like You… do you like me?
Earlier today I got a BBM (Blackberry Message) from my friend Michaela (The Poet) telling me all about new blog entitled ‘Think Twice Chick’.
I went to her website and after reading her latest post, was blown away. So much so that I have decided to write about it here. So here goes. My first real blog is completely inspired by Michaela The poet.
Before you read this, you really need to read her blog and then come back. It will make complete sense. Here’s the link » Click Here.

Being spiritual means nothing if you can’t see the natural needs of those around you.
If your music is on iTunes, but nobody knows it’s there, does it really exist?
Hello World
Welcome to my blog.
If your already following me on twitter you know that i like to talk about lots of random stuff.
By trade i’m a marketer and all round creative person, I have a HUGE passion for music, in particular, the growth of an industry here in the UK for Christian artists, so i’m hopeful that over time, this blog will reflect my passions, my opinions and probably most importantly me.
That’s my intro over, now to write some stuff that you will actually want to read about.
I’ll be back soon, until then, check out www.m-briomusic.com, a website that my brother and I started last year that has apparently taken the christian music world by storm, im not sure about that yet, but one day I hope we will.
Peace, until next time.
